I purchased this product thinking it would be the ideal solution for protecting the screen of my PSP while allowing me to see the screen with ease – not so. The product is made of a highly static plastic which attracts every conceivable bit of debris in the air and allows it to become trapped between the faceplate and screen. The faceplate snaps on to the front of the PSP utilising tabs that fit into existing holes in the PSP case, these tabs slip quite easily, making it necessary to frequently snap the faceplate back into place. In order to use virtually any of the speaker systems or battery boosters the faceplate must be removed, since the tabs snap on the top and bottom of the PSP unit.
The plastic UMD covers are made of the same highly static plastic and also attract debris, they were tossed in a box immediately and are now long forgotten in favor of Gameshark 4-UMD magnetic holders (which, by the way, TOTALLY rock!).
My best advice would be to buy a superior case, an ULTRA-high quality cleaning cloth, some canned air and a peel-and-stick screen protector if you’re paranoid about scratching your screen. Don’t waste your money on this product, unless you fancy trial and error.

OK People. Look at the description very carefully. It says “Faceplate and screen protector,” which means it is a product that protects the screen and faceplate. If it was a faceplate, it would say “Faceplate, and screen protector.”
Plus, anybody who actually looks at the picture can tell it isn’t a replacement faceplate….use a little common sense folks. I have one of these on the way and will write a more detailed review when it gets here.

I made the mistake of not taking the time to read the full description of this product. I searched for “faceplate” as in…replacement faceplate for PSP since mine is cracked and this came up so I bought it. It’s just a cover for the PSP. The description should read Face Cover not faceplate. My goof up, I’ll give it to my friend’s daughter since she doesn’t have any protector for her PSP yet. Be sure to read the full description before you buy anything.

That is not a “faceplate” it is a “faceguard” there are better products people…

Well, I bought it and I like it. It’s good for keeping the PSP clean, but if you’re somewhat clumsy, like me, don’t count on this protecting your PSP from falls. I dropped mine a few feet, and I still had to send it in for repair because it stopped reading my game-disks. But for less than ten bucks, it’s a decent product.
